Eventyrdalen is a unique, large-scale art project by street art artist Balstroem, spanning a monumental 24-metre wall mural that re-interprets Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale “The Nightingale”.
In collaboration with the non-profit organisations Be Free and Unikke Stemmer, the project engaged young people from Mjølnerparken and Vollsmose through creative workshops. Their stories, ideas and visual input became integral elements of the artwork.
Over eight weeks in an abandoned dairy near Vissenbjerg, Balstroem developed a vibrant, narrative-rich visual universe that merges his signature street-art language with the voices of youth participants.
Eventyrdalen is more than just a mural—it is a celebration of community, co-creation, and giving-voice to new perspectives. It invites viewers to see a familiar tale through fresh eyes and to reflect on themes of creativity, inclusion and transformation.
